One of the complaints given by residents and tourists alike is that it is very expensive to live or do anything if you are in possession, either permanently or temporarily, of a 75000 postcode.
As always, your doyenne is here to help. Here is a non-exhaustive list of things you can do in this glorious city without spending a single centime:
- Admire the paintings of Rembrandt and Monet at the splendid museum of Le Petit Palais (6 Avenue Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris).
- Take a stroll in the glorious Jardin de Luxembourg (3 Rue Guynemer, 75006 Paris, near our Luxembourg Gardens property).
- Enjoy the beautiful Parc Monceau (35 Boulevard de Courcelles, 75008 Paris, a walk away from our Parc Monceau and Le Parc Monceau properties).
- Wonder at the fabulous Basilique du Sacré-Coeur (35 Rue du Chevalier de la Barre, 75018 Paris, not far from our Sacré Coeur apartment).
- Wander in the gorgeous Church of Saint-Sulpice (2 Rue Palatine, 75006 Paris).
- Learn about Paris’ history in the Musée Carnavalet (23 Rue de Sévigné, 75003 Paris).
- Peruse the permanent collection in the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris (11 Avenue du Président Wilson, 75116 Paris, around the block from our Eiffel Tower Alma and Alma Eiffel Tower apartments, and across the street from Eiffel Tower-Seine).
- Bask in the sunlight in one of Paris’ only vineyards, the Clos Montmartre (14 Rue des Saules, 75018 Paris).
- Walk in the footsteps of royalty in the Park and Gardens of Le Château de Versailles (NB: You can also visit the palace itself, gratis, on the first Sunday of every month from November to March, but arrive early, as there are long queues!).
- Visit the home of the author of Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Victor Hugo, La Maison de Victor Hugo (6 Place des Vosges, 75004 Paris).
We hope you have a wonderful time!
